The show’s theme was “Optimizing Global Service in The Most Challenging Economic Climate of Our Time”.

View QED Information Systems and TaskCaddy News Conference. Field Service 2009

The conference showcased six focus areas:

  1. Remote Diagnostics- Utilize remote connectivity to cut costs

  2. Knowledge Management- Use self sustaining knowledge information for support

  3. Technical Assistance Centers- Expedite technician skill development

  4. Global Service- Develop a presence in emerging markets

  5. Outsourcing- Explore opportunities to expand your bandwidth

  6. Field Force Management- Leverage multiple solutions for saving and efficiency

Even in these trying economic times, some two-hundred persons came to experience this event, many of the highest echelon of their companies. Attendee titles ranged from Global Vice President, Field Services to Director of Field Services and many in between.

QED Information Systems hosted a booth at this event where we showcased TaskCaddy, our Workforce Deployment and Management software.

QED held live scheduled and ad hoc demonstrations of TaskCaddy and we were buoyed by the fact that more than one speaker emphasized that if service companies standardized and codified their service tasks they would obtain uniform field technician performance.

Standardization of tasks is the entire underlying design philosophy of TaskCaddy. Define once and use often to achieve cost certainty and profit predictability.

We also presented hardware platforms, including the innovative Above Net Tablet PC, the Redfly PDA screen expander device and the new Apex 3 mobile printer from Extech Instruments.

If you were unable to see the live web streaming from the show, you can review the slide show below, including the winners of the prize drawing of a raffle held by QED.
